Safe Harbour: Refugee Week events at Ascension

From 16-21 June we will be holding a series of events at Ascension for Refugee Week, remembering those seeking sanctuary.

All events will take place at the Ascension Church, 282 Stretford Road.

All welcome for free lunch. Arrive early!

2.30-3.30PM UPLIFT

By Dave Neita, a Windrush celebration

One man theatre performance followed by panel discussion.

6-8PM FAMILY FRIENDLY WORKSHOPS AND PERFORMANCES

African drumming, storytelling, circus skills, singing and dancing. Ethiopian and Eritrean streetfood available to purchase (cash only).

Open to all

The Radical Reading Room has an emerging collection of artwork, photos, records and stories about the Viraj Mendis Defence Campaign and sanctuary. You can learn about it, talk about it and get involved.

FRIDAY JUNE 21

CONVERSATION CAFE

Come and practice your English skills and build community with others at the events below. Join us for a supper, singing and beatboxing.
